Without the proper tools, cloning an SSID is not enough to sabotage one's connection, kahit pa iboost mo yung signal power ng fake AP to make it more look closer than the original AP boss, the device's wifi connection manager still knows whos the authenticated AP, that is why evil twin attack is especially designed that it can clone both SSID, BSSID(this is not always the exact AP's MAC address), and channel easily.

At kahit pa naka open wifi yung gagawin mong fake AP, di rin sila agad-agad coconnect sa fake AP, because devices by default is not set to connect to public wifi so pili lang din tatamaan nyan. More so kung magkaiba pa ng password yung original at fake AP.

Natry ko na to dati pa boss even dun sa luma kong lenovo phone model 2010 alam nya at hindi sya basta basta coconnect kahit pa yung fake AP ko katabi nya dun pa rin sya sa orig AP with correct password which is on the 2nd floor of my house.

BTW yung ETA is not only about cloning, its a series of different attacks, pwede yung cloning ng SSID consider as simple Rougue AP, but not on the same level ng ETA.
