Some of my experience on car maintenance, specifically when to change your car's fuel filter. Feel free to add yours!

Symtom #1: Starting difficulty
When have trouble starting your car, there are a few things to consider. One of them is a clogged fuel filter. A malfunctioning or clogged gasoline filter in your automobile can prevent the fuel system from supplying enough fuel to the engine to start. In this case, it can take a little longer than normal to start your car.

One common cause of trouble starting is a faulty automobile battery. As a result, you may want to have a look at the battery's shelf life before cleaning the fuel filter because it's easier.

Symtom #2: Inefficient fuel consumption
You could believe that when your car's gasoline filter is dirty or clogged, it will result in lower fuel use. However, the fuel system would pump extra fuel and push past the malfunctioning fuel filter, into the cylinders, resulting in higher fuel consumption.

Examine your car's fuel consumption monitor system to see if its fuel economy is deteriorating. If this is the case, go to your local auto shop to replace the fuel filter as soon as possible to save money on petrol in long term.

Symtom #3: Stalling Engine
Even if your fuel filter is malfunctioning, there is a strong probability that it can still start. When dealing with this problem, though, your car may stall once in a while. Your car's engine will stop if there isn't enough fuel to ignite inside the cylinders, especially when your car is travelingat low speeds.

Even if your automobile is idling, it still requires fuel to operate. If your automobile is becoming shakier when idle, it could be due to a clogged fuel filter. Due to a clogged gasoline filter, fuel can not reach the proper moment, causing your car to joggle.
