After weeks of leaks, Marvelous and XSEED Games have finally announced Rune Factory 5 for PC. It arrives on July 13th for Steam with the Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition both discounted by 15 percent.
Both English and Japanese voice tracks will be available in Rune Factory 5 along with features new to the series such as link attacks, co-op cooking, and same-sex marriage. Owners of Rune Factory 4 Special on Steam will also receive a special bonus in Rune Factory 5 in addition to outfits inspired by past protagonists Lest and Frey, fan-favorites Doug and Margaret will come live in Rigbarth as guest NPCs.
If you’re new to Rune Factory, it runs in a similar vein to Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley. The key difference is that Rune Factory puts a bit more of a focus on combat and exploring dungeons than the actual farming.
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game includes the base game and “Rune Factory 4 Marriage Candidates Outfit Set” which features 13 outfits based on Rune Factory 4’s cast. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay on the PC version in the coming weeks. Currently, Rune Factory 5 is available on Nintendo Switch and hit 500,000 shipments worldwide in May.
