Crossfire Tournament – THE QUALIFIERS

QUALIFIERS VENUE: Mineski Morayta
DATE: July 1, 2012 (Sunday)

Number of teams: 32 teams
Tournament Format:
- Single Elimination
- Round 32 and Round of 16

ONLY EIGHT (8) TEAMS WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINALS ON JULY 7 & 8, 2012 AT THE 4/F ANNEX EVENT AREA, SM CITY NORTH EDSA!


How to Register to the Qualifiers?

Online Pre-Registration: June 14 – June 29, 2012
1. Go to MSI Philippines Facebook fanpage. Hit "like" if you are not yet a fan :D
2. Click ‘Notes’ and search for the ‘MSI Overdrive Crossfire Tournament’ post.

*Online Registration only guarantees your slot if you come to the event within the check-in time.

Walk-in registration (NO GUARANTEE):
1. Walk-in registrations will be accepted during the event day, if there are slots available after the priority teams have checked-in.
2. All team members should be present during registration in order to qualify.
3. Sign up as a walk-in participant is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rules and Regulations

General Rules:
1. Any sign of cheating may result in the forfeiture of the game leading to disqualification from the event.
2. In the case of a computer / monitor malfunction, the game may be restarted from the beginning, with the approval of the CF marshal of the event.
3. If a player fails to report to their assigned station within grace period upon the match’s announcement (15 minutes), s/he will forfeit the match.
4. In the event of a situation not covered by the aforementioned rules, tournament organizers will convene and make a decision on the issue, in keeping with the spirit of a just tournament and in the interest of fairness.

Equipment:
1. Players may provide their own mouse, keyboard, headset and mousepad.
2. Players may not use a wireless headset or a headset that requires an outlet power.
3. Mice and keyboards must utilize standard USB interfaces. Players may not use PS2 interface equipment.
4. Players must not use 3rd party add-ons.
5. Players may not alter game files or modify drivers.
6. Players must not disable the “Save all Replays” gameplay option, remove replay, or copy a replay.
7. Players may not watch a replay after or between games.
8. Players may not have applications, browsers, or steams open other than CF launcher or application and any necessary drivers.

I. MECHANICS

A. Eligibility
1. Must have an existing Crossfire PH account.
2. Should consist of 5 members in 1 team (1 Team Leader plus 4 members).
3. Should be 14 yrs. old and above.
4. Participants are required to register with their real name, username, valid email and must present 1 valid ID and a photocopy of their birth certificate. For minors (14 to 17 years old), they should provide parent’s consent with parent’s signature and ID.
5. Minors with no requirements will not be accepted.

B. Team Preparation
1. No registration fee.

2. Participating team will be the one who will shoulder their own PC rental.


3. Teams will be given three (3) minutes to train and test their PC unit and devices. Downloading drivers during the tournament will not be allowed.

4. Only registered accounts can be used throughout the tournament. Switching accounts during the match will not be tolerated and will result to disqualification of the team.

5. Team leaders should save replay tape of their entire match.

6. Offenses indicated below will result to disqualification:

a. Threatening any member of Gameclub staff and Event Organizers.

b. Disregarding instructions and preventing the flow of the event to proceed.

c. Use of explicit words directed to any member of Gameclub staff.

d. Shorthanded Teams
1. (4) members in 1 team can still participate in the tournament
2. (3) members or less I 1 team will be disqualified/forfeited

e. Pre-engagement and Post Engagement Rule

The terms Pre-engagement and Post-engagement rule will be used to determine if a round will be continued or restarted in the event of a major technical problem occurrence. This rule will be used on some instances.

1. Pre-engagement situation - defined that all players (5 vs. 5) are still alive in a round. Regardless of how much HP they get damaged. It means the round must be restarted.
2. Post-engagement situation is defined that at least one (1) player is killed and out of a round. It means the corresponding round is continued to end and its result score is recorded. After the round ends, the following round will be played on a new game room.
3. Decisions made by Gameclub staff are final.

f. Disconnections
1. Disconnection upon loading or before the start of the round – Remake of that round will be required. (The round will be continued into a new room and team scores from previous match will be carried over)
2. Disconnection of 1 or 2 players during the match, pre-engagement/post engagement rule will be applied.
3. Disconnection of 3 or more players during the match, the round will be restarted.
4. For player(s) who voluntarily leave the round (Alt F4, shutdown or unplug their PC), his team will receive the following sanctions:
o 1st Offense: Team will automatically lose that round
o 2nd Offense: Team will be disqualified from the tournament

g. Technical Problems – Connection/Network Issues
1. In case a problem occurs due to unstable internet/network connection, the GMs will restart that round regardless of the course of the match. (A new game room will be created to continue the match.
2. In case of PC/Client errors, the Pre-engagement/Post Engagement rule will be applied.
3. In the event a player experiences a hardware problem/malfunction during a match, the issue will be decided by the Pre-engagement/Post Engagement rule.

h. Technical Problems – Bugs and Glitch
1. In any case bugs (such as bugs in planting or defusing time explosive device and/or more) occurred during a match, that specific round will be restarted regardless of the course of the match.
2. Players are required to inform the GMs immediately regarding the encountered bug so the GMs can implement the rule. If a player fails to declare the bug within that round, the GMs will consider that round normal and all the scores made in that round will be counted.
3. Taking advantage of known exploits in the game will be considered cheating. Exploits include bugs, wallhack, glitching (map), tapping or any other action that would be interpreted as gaining an unfair advantage. Abuse of this exploits will result to disqualification of the team.
4. In the event that any unexpected incidents or delays not mentioned in the rules occur, the organizer will decide to use its sole discretion to determine the outcome.

i. Boosting
1. Boosting in order to reach a part of the map outside the normal map boundaries (illegal area) where players can see beyond the map or through the map (map glitching) is not allowed and will result in the following offenses:
o 1st Offense: Minus one round won for offending team
o 2nd Offense: Automatic disqualification of team from the tournament

2. Planting C4 on a location which requires boosting is not allowed and will result in the following offenses:
o 1st Offense: Minus one round won for offending team
o 2nd Offense: Automatic disqualification of team from the tournament

3. Players may step on other players to jump to a higher location. This method is allowed in this tournament.

j. Standard Procedure
1. When a player is killed in-game in any round they must automatically remove their hands from the keyboard and mouse (hands-off).
2. Player may look at a teammate’s screen but cannot stand from his seat to view another teammate’s screen.
3. Communication between teammates after player-kill will be allowed but the dead player must keep their hands off the keyboard and mouse at all times until the next round starts.
4. If a player touches his/her keyboard while dead the following penalties will ensue:
o 1st Offense: Warning
o 2nd Offense: Minus one round won for offending team
o 3rd Offense: Automatic disqualification of team from the tournament

II. TOURNAMENT (ELIMINATIONS)

A. Participants: Thirty-two (32) Teams

B. Eliminations Match Format

Team size: 5 v 5
Game mode: Destruction Mode
Single Elimination
Race to 8 (eight) wins

o Round format: 7 wins
Maximum of 14 rounds will be played per round.
Match will stop after 7 rounds are played for the first half of the match.
Both teams will switch sides for the second half of the match.

In case of a tie:
Sudden death:
o One (1) additional round will be played
o Winner of the round will be the winner
o Starting side for sudden match will be determined by coin toss.
o Same Map.

Maps
o Maps to be used: Ankara, Sub Base, Port, Mexico, The Mine, Eagle Eye, Desert Storm, Ceyhan, Factory, Black Widow, Castle, Down Town.
o Maps will be determined by random draw per match

Restrictions
o All eCoin weapons are allowed except for Gold weapons (AWM, AK47, M4A1, Desert Eagle)
o Restricted weapons and items:
- Scar Light
- Special HE Grenades
- Shock Absorber
- Flash bang Guard
- SPOP-X
- Bug Spray
- Red Smoke
o One (1) sniper per team only (Team MUST have 1 sniper).
o Any violation of the above restrictions will disqualify the team.
