1. open your vmware workstation, go to Edit>Virtual Network Editor...

- select your desired nic

2. go to Network Connection of your host PC and select your nic

3. back to your vmware workstation, gawa kayo ng virtual machine (shortcut tayo ha..^__^)

4. install pfsense

5. after installation, by default lan ip ng pfsense ay 192.168.1.1
palitan nyo ng LAN ip
go to console, select 2, then 2 ulit
type mo lan ip: 192.168.1.2 then enter
subnet: 24 then enter
dhcp settings: "N" muna (sa gui nalang mgset)
after that press "enter"
eto na po yung console nya..^__^

6. before going to pfsense gui (sa browser), punta muna sa Network connection at maglagay ng IP

7. after that, go to browser and type your lan ip..

Newbie question po:

Mapapagana ko po ba yung captive portal using this setup? Plano ko po kasi paganahin yun sa mga wifi devices. Kaya lang wala akong switch pero yung router ko, wireless router din para sa wifi.

pwede pubang ang setup pldt->pc(pfsense running in vmware ang setup? gusto ko lang po ma try muna sa pc ko yung pfsesne para mapagaralan narin
successful ko nainstall si pfsense kaso nag try ako ako ng squid package yung with proxy bayun diba dapat mag iiba yung location ko pag tinitest ko same loc padin e help po

Sir nakaganito rin kami ang problem is kapag may nag ccopy paste ng files and transfer thru network nagllag siya. Ano po kaya problem neto?

Sir pano setup ng 2 nic sa vmware, parehas bang naka bridge yun nic 1 & 2? Gusto ko sanang setup ay ISP --> PFSENSE in VMWARE --> wireless switch(ddwrt) --> client

pwede ba yan ganyan? nag try kc ako ng ganyan ayaw gumana.

recommend paganahin muna wired connection using 1 NIC only, then connect your wifi AP to 2nd NIC directly then configure 2nd NIC as your Captive portal separately, this way separate pa din ang CP and LAN clients

Sir, wala nabang iaassign na ip address sa NIC1 and NIC2, yun setup ko kasi naka obtain ip address automatically? sa ngayon ang ang problema na na encounter ko ay walang internet pag access ko ng wifi sa 2nd router ko na nakaconnect sa NIC2, nag rerelease naman ng ip address from pfsense dhcp server. Salamat in advance!

Thank you Sir! napagana ko na, kelangan ko lang pala iremove yun ip gateway sa Lan ng Pfsense and also sa routing ang lan gateway. Yun mismong Lan ip na pala ang magiging gateway. Thanks & God Blessed!
